Annual Fundraising

Fun Fair:  Our largest annual fundraising event featuring games, food concessions, raffles including classroom basket raffles.  Provides an entertaining evening for students and their families.  Many volunteers are needed to help with food, decorations, donations, games, raffles and more.  Please contact funfair@gmspto.org for more information.

Winter Wonderland:  Winter Wonderland is fun opportunity for children to secretly shop for their family and friends for the holidays.  Children will shop with a 5th grade elf assigned to them.  Gifts range anywhere from $1-$10 and are offered in the following categories: young kids, brothers, sisters, moms, dads, grandparents, teachers, pets, and stocking stuffers.  Parent volunteers work to “supply” the shop by buying, assembling and making gifts ahead of time (throughout the year). Parent volunteers are also needed the day of to help with wrapping the gifts.  Winter Wonderland is usually held the first weekend of December.  While children shop, adults can also shop in the gym where crafters and vendors will be as well as a bake sale.  If you are interested in volunteering with Winter Wonderland, participating as a crafter or wrapper, we are always looking for volunteers.  Please contact winterwonderland@gmspto.org for more information.

Adult Night Out: Adult Night Out is a fun opportunity for parents to have a night out.  The most recent event featured a Trivia Night at the Moose Lodge in Batavia which was so well received it is expected to become an annual event. The night included a meal, cash bar, raffles, games and a wine pull with all proceeds going towards PTO initiatives.  Please contact adultnightout@gmspto.org for more information.

Grizzly Gear:  The PTO sponsors a spirit wear order at the beginning of every school year to allow families to purchase Grace McWayne Grizzlies shirts, sweatshirts and other items.  Please contact gear@gmspto.org for more information.

Fall/Spring Book Fairs:  A sale of new books, from Scholastic, held every fall and spring in the 21st Century Learning Lab.  A great way to promote reading at home by all students.  School receives a profit based on a percentage of sales.  Volunteers are needed.  Please contact bookfair@gmspto.org for more information.

Movie Night: This is a school event that brings students and their families back to school in the evening to watch a family movie.  Students are invited to wear pajamas and bring sleeping bags and pillows.  Movie selection and concession selections need to be prepared and sold.  This is an annual event.  Please contact movienight@gmspto.org for more information.

Yearbook:  The yearbook is a compilation of all the student and staff portraits taken in the fall and highlights many of the special activities throughout the school year.  Montage pages are created using candid photos, room parent celebration photos, and informal playground/class pictures.  Photographers are needed throughout the year.  Volunteers are needed to help with layout.  Please contact yearbook@gmspto.org for more information. Photos will be accepted through January of the current school year but submission is requested in a timely manner to ensure they are available when montage pages are being created. Your pictures from the prior year’s outdoor education day are welcome in the current school year.
